Style without ever opening Fusion
Font, size, vertical position, color and outline are now set from the panel and applied to every caption clip. No node graph, no Text+ inspector, no per-clip fiddling.
Custom vocabulary
Give Caption Pro the names, brands and jargon of your video before transcribing, and they come out spelled right the first time. No more fixing the same product name in twenty places.
Sharper transcription
Silences no longer invent phantom sentences, and you can switch to the larger Whisper models (medium, large-v3) when accuracy matters more than speed.
GPU acceleration
Your NVIDIA card is detected and used automatically, with a safe fall back to CPU when there is nothing to accelerate with.
Import an SRT
Already have subtitles? Bring the file in and get it styled word by word on your timeline, with no transcription pass at all.
Faster placement
Up to 7× quicker on long timelines, and Cancel now stops the job mid-placement instead of waiting for the last clip.
Templates installed in one click
A button imports the caption templates into your project, so the manual Media Pool step is gone.

Next-generation karaoke
The spoken word can now carry a full custom look — the classic TikTok background box behind the word, an outline, a color — and that look is designed in a template, not in the app: style a single sample word inside the karaoke template, and Caption Pro applies that exact look to each word as it is spoken.
Two karaoke styles included, your choice
TikTok box (shader) or Colored text (the spoken word simply changes color). A "Style" selector in the new Karaoke tab switches between them — or use your own template.
One-click shader color
The "Shader color → Custom" option recolors the box (or the word, depending on the style) without reopening Fusion.
Keywords redesigned on the same principle
Captions containing a keyword now use their own template (keyword_template) with a hand-styled sample word — no longer just a color change.
New Karaoke tab
Everything for the mode in one place (toggle, style, template, color), and the karaoke template is selected automatically when the mode is on.
"Pop-in" animated preset
Words spring in with a quick bounce, driven by an animated template (popin_template) whose animation you can retime or restyle in Fusion.
Dark-themed interface, matching DaVinci Resolve
The whole app now ships with a dark theme that matches DaVinci Resolve, with assorted dark-theme fixes (selectors stay readable on hover).
Source language dropdown
~99 Whisper languages, "Auto-detect" by default — typos are no longer possible.
Fixes & reliability
- Manual track + review + "Replace" no longer aborts the generation.
- The final status message now reports the correct track number in auto-track mode.
- Your Deliver render queue is no longer wiped by the audio export — Caption Pro now manages only its own render job.
- An interrupted engine installation (network drop on first launch) now self-repairs on the next run.
- Engine dependencies pinned to tested versions — a breaking upstream release can no longer affect new installs.
- 4 ready-made templates: karaoke_template, karaoke_template_text, keyword_template, popin_template (plus the v1.3 templates).
- Fully updated Welcome Guide (new tab, karaoke template workflow, v1.4 screenshots).

Review and correct before placement — the headline feature
Whisper is excellent, but not infallible on proper nouns, technical terms, or a strong accent. Caption Pro now shows you the transcript before placing captions: correct it directly in the window, sentence by sentence — only the sentence you edit gets touched, everything else keeps its exact frame-accurate Whisper timing.
Uncertain words jump out at you
Every word Whisper wasn't confident about is automatically highlighted. No need to re-read everything — your eye goes straight to what matters.
Double-click to listen again
Not sure about a word? Double-click the line: Resolve's playhead jumps straight to that moment in the video, without leaving the Caption Pro window.
Your corrections are remembered
Regenerate with a different style (preset, karaoke, colors…) and your corrections come back automatically — you never fix the same mistake twice.
Translation: correct the source language, get the target language
The review screen always shows the video's original language (that's where corrections belong). Translation then runs on your corrected text — the placed captions are properly in the language you chose.
Want to move fast? Skip the review
A "Skip review next time" checkbox disables the review screen and returns to the v1.2 one-click flow. Re-enable it anytime from the Advanced tab.

Near-instant regeneration
Caption Pro now remembers your timeline's transcription during the session. As long as the audio hasn't changed, regenerating with a different style (preset, segment length, karaoke, colors…) skips the audio analysis and transcription entirely — new captions land in seconds. Try 3 styles in a minute.
Replace or compare — your call
Pressing Generate Captions when captions already exist now asks what you want: replace the existing captions (the usual choice, one click), keep them and place the new style on a track above (great for comparing two looks), or cancel. No more stacked tracks — and nothing is ever deleted without your confirmation.
"Clear captions" button
One click empties the caption track(s), with a confirmation showing exactly how many clips will be removed. Your edit is never touched.
SRT export
Export your captions as a standard .srt file straight from the window — ready for YouTube, archiving, or any player. Bonus: the file uses the segmentation settings selected at export time, so you can re-cut the same transcription into longer or shorter lines without regenerating.
Caption only part of your timeline
Set In / Out points on the timeline (I and O keys) before generating: Caption Pro transcribes and captions only that range. Remove the marks to cover the whole timeline again.
