FireCut is a plugin for DaVinci Resolve that adds AI editing tools to the timeline. The free tier works on both DaVinci Resolve Free and Studio, with unlimited use of three tools: silence removal, multichannel audio splitting for podcast and interview recordings, and Markers+ for organizing a timeline with custom markers.
The Captions plan is $12.99 a month and covers 90+ languages. Captions render as styled Fusion titles with a live preview, and the transcript underneath can be edited word by word and exported. Styling covers typography, Google Fonts, outline and shadow, word-by-word animation, automatic emoji and line breaks, and more than 20 built-in presets alongside custom ones. The plan includes 8 hours of transcription a month.
Pro is $16 a month billed yearly, with weekly and monthly options at a higher rate. It adds first-cut assembly, multi-track tools, and cleanup passes that remove filler words, repeated phrases, and profanity, plus caption, title, zoom, and chapter tools. B-roll, sound effects, and music search run through Storyblocks, and a highlight tool pulls the strongest moments out of a longer timeline into a short cut. The transcription allowance rises to 10 hours a month.
Max, at $49.99 a month billed yearly, keeps everything in Pro and adds AI voiceover, image, and music generation, a workflows feature, 4K B-roll, and 50 hours of transcription a week, running on what FireCut describes as its premium AI models with multimodal visual understanding. A Team plan at $34 per user a month bundles the DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro plugins under one subscription with centralized billing and admin controls, aimed at agencies and social teams. A lifetime license covering both plugins and future updates is available on request through a work email, with no listed price.
FireCut for DaVinci Resolve runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and works with DaVinci Resolve Free as well as Studio. AI-driven features need an internet connection. Once a plan's included transcription hours run out, FireCut stays usable: features that need transcription draw down the plan's allowance, or the editor can keep working from an existing subtitle track. Paid plans include a 7 day free trial.

Verdict
The free tier's silence removal and audio splitting are genuinely useful with no subscription required. Captions and the filler and repetition cleanup that make FireCut interesting live behind the paid plans though, and every AI feature needs an internet connection, so it's not the tool for offline editing.
